"The budget will not be acceptable to us and we will go to any extent against the government step," said Poudel while addressing a function organized by Democratic Lawyer´s Association-Nepal. [break]
He urged President Ram Baran Yadav not to approve the "unconstitutional" ordinance. "This will be also a test for the president as he comes from [democratic] political background," Poudel added.
Poudel stated that the caretaker government was trying to bring budget by sidelining the political parties.
He accused the Maoist party of attempting to capture the state power by overriding all state mechanism.
"This budget will count a lot; the present government will never conduct fresh polls once the budget is announced," Poudel argued.
He also urged lawyers to stay ready for next movement to save democracy and the country. "Democracy is under threat yet again," Poudel said.
Addressing the same function, NC General Secretary Prakash Man Singh said the present caretaker government has lost its political and moral ground.
