While party´s vice president Ram Chandra Poudel is on a Japan visit, over a dozen central members of the party are outside Kathmandu Valley. The next CWC meeting has been called for Tuesday.
According to NC General Secretary Kul Bahadur Gurung, the meeting discussed as to how long the time should be extended for the distribution of active membership as the party failed to distribute the membership in the stipulated time of mid-March. “Though there was long discussion on the issue the meeting did not take any decision,” he said.
NC had amended general convention calendar a month ago, deciding to complete renew and distribute active membership of the party in all districts by mid-March.
The party, however, failed to accomplish the task as the party leadership failed to settle the differences that surfaced in various district committees, including in Sankhuwasabha and Okhaldhunga.
Most CC members taking part in the deliberations on Sunday said that the differences in the two districts should be immediately resolved before amending the CA calendar for the third time.
Earlier, the party´s office bearers proposed completing the party´s village, regional, municipal, regional and district level convention by mid-May and hold the party´s 12th general convention by mid-June, 2010.
