KATHMANDU, Dec 21: District Administration Office, Kathmandu remanded seven days judicial custody to unruly mob who barged into Nepal Republic Media Office in Sundhara identifying themselves as Shiva Sena cadres and manhandled staff yesterday.
They have been kept at Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range. Spokesperson of Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka DSP Dhiraj Pratap Shah said that they have begun investigation after the administration granted a seven-day judicial custody to hooligans. [break]He also said that police have intensified search of other assaulters who were also involved in the attack.
It has been reported that the hooligans agreed to seek a public apologize for their act with Kathmandu Chief District Officer (CDO) Chudamani Sharma. The CDO made it clear that he was unable to grant an excuse to them and suggested to seek an apology from the complainant instead.
Police arrested around 15 persons over vandalism and assault. Two persons were released later after they were found innocent.
The hooligans, who shouted "Shiva Sena Jindabad", forcibly entered the offices of the media house yesterday, which publishes Republica and Nagarik dailies and Shukrabar weekly, and assaulted Kishor Nepal, editor-in-chief of Nagarik and Shukrabar along with other staff.

Various organizations have condemned the vandalism that took place on Thursday at the office of Nagarik daily in Sundhara, and the subsequent manhandling of Nagarik editor Kishore Nepal and other media persons.
Issuing separate statements here on Friday, the National Human Rights Commission, National Human Rights Foundation, Human Rights and Peace Society and Nepal Bar Association have also demanded immediate action against those involved in the condemnable act.
They have also expressed concern over the possibility of such incidents infringing the people´s right to information and also encouraging impunity.
The organizations have called upon the Government to manage appropriate security measure for the media persons and media houses.
Meanwhile, the Shiva Sena Nepal has demanded immediate and unconditional release of its cadres arrested in the incident that took place at Nagarik daily office yesterday.
In a statement issued here today, the Shiva Sena has also urged all media houses to refrain from publishing anti-social images.
"Shiva Sena Nepal is saddened over the loss incurred by Nagarik daily at the hands of its cadres", reads the statement.
