NAC Airbus escapes fatal crash in Hong Kong

KATHMANDU, Oct 17: The A320-200 airbus operated by Nepal Airlines Corporation escaped a fatal crash at Hong Kong International Airport on Saturday.

A catering truck hit the airbus as it was preparing for take-off for Kathmandu.


The airbus was scheduled to fly to the capital at 19:05 pm today and was hit on the backside by a catering vehicle, according to NAC Spokesperson Ramhari Sharma.

The airbus was grounded following the incident. It is yet to establish the details of damages and determine time needed for repairing, he said. All passengers on board are safe.
