On Sunday, some decoy policemen fixed a deal with Singh promising to buy 10 kilos of hashish and asked him to meet them at Savitri Hotel in Geta VDC-9.
The police arrested Singh when he produced hashish.
According to the police, Singh, a resident of Gadhairiya VDC-9 of Bajhang district, was on leave from his barrack on the pretext of his mother´s illness. But, instead of going home, he was busy selling hashish in Kailali. Singh has told the police that he had brought hashish from Bajhang and was going to sell it in India.
According to sources, the NA has been asking the police to hand over Singh to it. He was still in police custody till Monday evening. The police say they will charge Singh and the others arrested under the Narcotic Drug (control) Act, 2033 BS.
As per this act, those who are arrested with more than 10 kilos of hashish will face jail term ranging from two to 10 years.
