Bednidhi, who has been in the field for 18 years, has received music training from various maestros, such as Gopalnath Yogi, Bhola Rai, and Kusheswor Rai along with obtaining diploma in music from Sur Sangam Bidhyalaya of Ilahabad in India.[break]
He has set to music four dozen songs, among which eight songs have been recorded.
The singer, who has already presented his songs in Kathmandu, Narayangarh, Simara, Dhankuta, Biratnagar and Itahari at different times, entertained a group of distinguished guests at Gurukul Theater in Kathmandu on June 20.
Republica met him after his musical program and got to know about his musical journey and more about his life.

What are your national and international influences in music?
I like all types of music. I’m influenced by reggae and slow rock in western music. If I have to mention some names, I like Rod Stewart, Gary Moore, Michael Jackson and Bon Jovi. I’m into ghazals and fusion of eastern folk and rock in wastern music. I’m also influenced by Mehdi Hasan and Narayan Gopal.
Who motivated you to pursue music?
My mother has always been my motivation. She was a life lover and she saw life more through her heart than through her brain. While searching for something I loved through my heart, I found music which is always closer to my life.
Your albums in the past and your favorite recorded songs?
“Nashalu Raat,” “Chhadke Nazar,” “Aja Andhyarole,” and “Nazarke Uthake” are my first recorded songs. I had released a group album “Chhadke Nazar” 10 years ago. “Kati Meetha Kati Nyana” and “Aja Yo Andhyaro” are my favorite songs.
Are you planning to come up with a new album?
I’ve been thinking of producing a new album within a year. I’ve already started the preparations. The new album will have love songs of pop genre with western flavors. Nilhari Pokhrel has asked me to provide music for his next movie. So I’ll be working on that, too.
What are you interested in besides music?
I meditate. I like to go beyond the heart, mind and soul. I also like to find out the mysteries of life. I live a simple life. I’m just an ordinary guy.
Have you ever lost hope in your life?
I don’t think so. I have never felt discouraged. Sometimes I feel discouraged but my love for music never dies. Well, things happen in life and you have to move on.
What type of music do you like to work on?
I don’t like chaotic music. Such music makes no sense. Such type of music is popular in Nepal. But I like to work with such music that can penetrate people’s heart and cure them.
Your future plans in life.
I like to look at life deeply and I try to reflect that in my music. I’d like to live my life peacefully without hurting anyone.
