KATHMANDU, June 4: The newly-formed Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Republican (MPRF-R) has mandated its central committee members to form district committees in their respective home districts.

The party has deputed Nandan Kumar Dutta and Sabita Yadav in Sunsari, Atmaram Sah in Parsa, Surita Sah in Mahottari, Salma Mikrani in Sarlahi, Bishwonath Prasad Yadad in Saptari, Aqbal Ahmed Shah in Kapilbastu and Sandhya Devi in Banke. [break]

Similarly, other leaders Chandrika Yadav and Om Prakash Yadav have been entrusted with the responsibility of forming the district committees in Rupandehi while Raj Kishor Yadav and Raj Lal Yadav have been mandated to form district chapter in Siraha. The leaders have been deputed in the districts from where they were elected Constituent Assembly members.

Former Co-chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum Jaya Prasad Prakash Prasad had defected from the party to form MPRF-R on May 23.

According to Dutta, all members have been instructed to form district committees within a week. “Some of our friends have already left for their home districts on Friday while others are leaving on Saturday evening,” Dutta told Republica before leaving for Sunsari.

He said MPRF-R will focus on expanding the party´s organizational network in Tarai districts first. The party recently formed Jhapa district chapter.

According to Dutta, MPRF-R´s next priority would be to form sister organizations after it completes formation of district committees.

MRPF-R leaders say they are committed to making the party extensively inclusive so that it may accommodate people from all the communities in the Tarai region.

Meanwhile, a group of 14 MPRF leaders in Saptari district led by assistant secretary of the district chapter defected from the MPRF to join the new party on Friday.

Alarmed by the recent trend of defection from his party to join the Gupta led MPRF-R, MPRF Chairman Upendra Yadav has left for Tarai districts.

In what has come as a blow to Yadav, MPRF-R has also decided to appoint Umesh Yadav, incumbent chairman of MPRF Morang chapter, as the district chairman of the party. MPRF Vice chairman Shyam Lal Sharma is also set to join the newly formed party.
