MoFA team off to Egypt for NAM meeting

KATHMANDU, May 6: A three-member Nepali delegation led by Foreign Secretary Durga Prasad Bhattarai left for Egypt to make necessary preparations for the ministerial-level meeting on Non-Alignment Movement (NAM) slated to begin from May 9.



Joint Secretary Dipak Dhital and Under Secretary Suresh Adhikari from the UN Division at the foreign ministry are also in the delegation. Foreign minister from 120 NAM countries and representatives of 15 other countries are taking part in the two-day conference being held at the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh.



Sources said the prime minister may appoint foreign minister or designate a minister by Monday to represent Nepal in the meeting.
