Maoists betrayed us: Koirala

KATHMANDU, Feb 22: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala has accused UCPN (Maoist) of “political betrayal” for not accepting the prime ministerial candidate proposed by his party.



Addressing a regional gathering of Nepali Congress (NC)-affiliated Nepal Government Employees Organization (NGEO) on Friday, Koirala said the Maoists had betrayed the party by rejecting NC leadership in the new government. [break]



Government employees from various 19 districts in the central region are participating in the two-day gathering.



Addressing the gathering, Coordinator of the NGEO Central Regional Coordination Committee Awadhesh Kumar Gautam said the government was passing the buck on the civil servants for its failures.
