Maoist Kailali district in-charge Hari Gyawali said his party has planned to give similar training to some 10,000 people in the district alone. "Once the training completes, similar training will be conducted at each village," Gyawali said. [break]
Members of the party´s sister wings, teachers and commoners are participating in the training being run in 10 temporary camps.
People of 16-25 age group are taking part in the week-long training that kicked off Monday. The party has arranged all the accommodation of the participants.
Gyawali said that the training was conducted in view of the street protests that his party has launched.
Gyawali said the youths have been trained to charge batons during the anti-government protests in case of police using force against them.
Member of the Maoist Tharuwan Rajya Samiti Sundar Regmi said the training is being given with the slogan of ´All are YCL and all YCL are militants´. Regmi said the trained youths could be mobilized anywhere across the country after the training.
The participants have been given "military and ideological" training that starts at 6 am and concludes at 6 pm every day.
The "security training" in Kailali comes amidst similar training in other parts of the country.
Students awarded first aid training certificates
