KATHMANDU, May 31: On the occasion of Republic Day-2083, the Embassy of Nepal in Colombo organized a special programme on Friday. The programme began with flag hoisting, singing of the national anthem and a moment of silence in honour of the known and unknown martyrs, the Embassy said.
The event was attended by Embassy staff and Diplomatic community members and representatives from Nepal- Sri Lanka Friendship Association.
Sri Lankan envoy for boosting economic ties with Nepal
Addressing the programme, Chargé d'Affaires Vijay Kumar Raut extended heartfelt greetings to all Nepali brothers and sisters in Sri Lanka, the Maldives and the world on the occasion of Republic Day. He stated that it is the duty of all of us to institutionalize the federal democratic republic, which was achieved through the great struggle and sacrifice of the Nepali people. The system is for ensuring sustainable peace, prosperity and good governance in the country, according to him.
Referring to the current government's prioritization of economic prosperity and good governance, Raut also called upon all Nepalis abroad to unite and move forward for Nepal's development, prosperity, and bright future.
