Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal is set to appoint three ministers from his party on Thursday afternoon.[break]
According to Maoist vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the largest party in parliament decided not to join the government as UML did not clarify on the seven-point agreement.
UML chairman Khanal and Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had signed an agreement just before the prime ministerial election last Friday. Some senior UML leaders have disowned the agreement.
Meanwhile, UML leader Shankar Pokharel said that the government would be expanded on Thursday including Bharat Mohan Adhikari as deputy prime minister and finance minister and two other ministers.
"Since today is the day to table the budget ordinance, and the issue of power-sharing hasn´t been resolved, three UML ministers will take oath," Pokharel said.
He said that Bishnu Poudel and Gangalal Tuladhar would also join the government but didn´t respond to query regarding their portfolio.
