KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Liquefied petroleum (LP) gas dealers have criticized the government's inability to look for alternative ways to supply LP Gas and other petroleum products in the market.

Organizing a press meet in the capital on Monday, officials of Gas Dealers' Federation of Nepal (GFDN), slammed the government for not exploring alternatives even though India has been obstructing fuel supply for the past two weeks.Officials of the federation have urged the government to look for alternatives to resume supply of LP gas and other petroleum products at the earliest.

"People have showed great patience so far as the ongoing obstruction is related to national sovereignty and not just business," Gyaneshwor Aryal, president of GDFN, said. "But the inertness of government shows it is not serious toward sufferings of general people."

Stating that the situation has become critical, Aryal said the government should immediately explore alternative routes to resume supply of petroleum products and inform people when the situation will become normal.
