TT team off to Lucknow
KATHMANDU, Nov 14: A 14-member Nepali table tennis team, including eight players, left for Lucknow on Saturday to participate in the 19th Asian Table Tennis Championship.
Purushottam Bajracharya, Chandan Shahi, Shiva Sundar Gothe, Ajay Suwal, Geeta Thapa Magar, Muna Basukala, Nabita Shrestha and Swechha Nembang will compete in the championship from November 16 to 22 in which 32 nations are taking part.

All the players except Shiva and Swechha have been selected for the 11th South Asian Games as well.The officials of the team comprises chairman of All Nepal Table Tennis Association Chaturananda Raj Baidya, coaches Sushil Puodel and Nabin Suwal and referee Shankar Prasad Gautam.
National Sports Council´s acting member-secretary Min Krishna Maharjan bade farewell to the team amidst a function.
Pushpa Sadan win Tug of War C´ship
KATHMANDU, Nov 14: Pushpa Sadan clinched the title of the First Valleywide School-level Tug of War Championship held at the Armed Police Force Headquarters, Halchowk, on Saturday. Gyanodaya Balbatika and Gyanodaya High School stood second and third, respectively.
Minister for Youth and Sports Ganesh Tiwari Nepali, AFP Chief Sanat Kumar Basnet, Nepal Olympic Committee Chairman Dhruba Pradhan and the organizing committee Chairman Sahabir Thapa distributed the prizes to the winning teams amidst a function.
