KATHMANDU, Aug 2: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal is set to organize a national convention of its sister organization, the Socialist Youth Union, Nepal Central Committee.
According to Purna Basnet, head of the party’s Publicity and Publication Department, a meeting of the party’s central secretariat decided to form the central committee of the Socialist Youth Union and to hold its national convention.

Basnet said the party’s General Secretary, Lalbabu Raut, has sent letters to district chairpersons, requesting them to submit names of three active and capable youths from each district. The party has set a deadline until the end of mid-August to submit the names of youths under the age of 40 to the party’s central office.
Stating that the role of youth power is indispensable in building a prosperous nation, he said the party has taken this initiative to unite active and capable young individuals.
