Pyakurel who sustained serious injuries after being hit by a Tata Sumo vehicle at Jeetpur on the Birgunj-Pathalaiya road section on Tuesday died on the way to Kathmandu. He was rushed to Birgunj for treatment. Pyakurel suffered serious injuries to his head. [break]
Pyakurel was the Bara district correspondent for the Gorakhapatra National Daily and the Terai Television (TTV).
The driver of the Tata Sumo has been arrested in this connection, police said.
