Nisha Baniya was killed when a Bolero jeep (Ko 1 Cha 6649) skidded off the road and fell from the Gergere cliff at Kolbote of Rauta-9, when it was headed for Bhuttar from Patlebas of Triyuga Municipality-11, carrying wedding guests. [break]
The injured are Ashwin Karki, Trilochan Karki, Uma Thapa, Ram Kumar Sah, Manoj Karki, Tilak Karki, Ram Karki, Ganesh Karki, Amar Karki and the bus driver Teju Ale Magar. The deceased and injured were among the wedding guests.
There were altogether 22 people aboard. Others who were traveling on the roof of the vehicle saved their life jumping off the hood. The injured are being taken to Gaighat for medical treatment.
The bridegroom, who sustained minor injuries, along with his relatives has left for the bride’s house. It is traditionally believed that, irrespective of mishaps, a marriage ceremony should not be stopped.
