Japanese aid to Sindhuli farmers

KATHMANDU, July 7: The government of Japan has decided to extend financial assistance of Rs 24.71 million to GLM Institute in Sindhuli district under the grant assistance for Japanese NGO Project Scheme.



The GLM Institute, in close coordination with a local NGO called Srijanshil Welfare Society, will implement the project for improving the livelihood of farmers through Environmentally Harmonizing Agriculture in the hilly areas of Sindhuli district. [break]



According to a press statement issued by the Embassy of Japan on Friday, a grant agreement to this effect was signed by Japan´s Ambassador to Nepal, Kunio Takahashi and the project manager of GLM Institute, Wakana Nishiyama.



The grant will be utilized to improve the livelihoods of people in Kusheshwar Dumja VDC of Sindhuli district by introducing environmentally harmonizing agriculture technology to local farmers.
