The tournament, previously named Simara Gold Cup, has added Magic Moments ahead of its name after Rolling River Distillery inked a three-year sponsorship deal with Nawa Jana Jagriti Club.
In the last edition of tournament, host Nawa Jana Jagriti was defeated by ANFA Academy. But the host this time has vowed to beat the Academy team to avenge the defeat suffered in the last edition.
The top flight teams featuring in the tournament include national league runner up Yeti Airlines Himalayan Sherpa Club, Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club, Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT), Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) and Armed Police Force (APF). Similarly, Sahara Club of Pokhara, ANFA Academy, Workers Martyrs Memorial Club, Munal Club of Jhapa, Birgunj Youth Academy, Lalbandi Football Club and host Nawa Jana Jagriti Club are other contesting teams.
The tournament has the highest cash prize for winner and runner-up among the tournaments held outside the capital. The winner and runner-up will bag a purse of Rs 300,000 and Rs 150,000 respectively.
