Group discussion underway

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: The 7th general convention of CPN-Maoist is underway for a third day in the capital on Friday, with group discussions being held on the party’s political document and statute draft presented a day earlier in the closed session.



Group leaders are scheduled to put forth their views during today’s closed session being held in the Nepal Academy hall. The participants are holding discussion in 21 separate groups, with 25 to to 225 members taking part in a group. [break]



On Thursday, the first day of the closed session, party Chairman Mohan Baidya put forth his political document proposing ‘people’s revolt’, while party Secretary Dev Gurung presented the draft of party statute.



Altogether 1,200 representatives, 400 observers, 300 volunteers and 100 cultural artists are participating in the convention. The five-day convention will conclude on Sunday.
