A cabinet meeting held this morning took a decision to this effect, according to Finance Minister Barshaman Pun. It may be recalled that there are already some ordinances, earlier forwarded by the government, awaiting the president´s endorsement. [break]
Today’s meeting also decided to send the report, submitted by the panel earlier formed to settle disputes regarding legalizing land ownership transactions during the Maoist insurgency, to the concerned committee in the cabinet.
Likewise, the meeting decided to provide one blanket to each of the households affected by the recent cold wave across the Terai belt and provide relief to the families suffering loss of life due to cold.
Similarly, the meeting decided to approve the resignation tendered by Laxman Bhattarai, a joint secretary at the industry ministry. It also decided to appoint Yubraj Pandey as the new vice-chairman of Poverty Alleviation Fund.
Likewise, the meeting decided to transfer seven brigadier generals and a colonel of Nepal Army to new postings. It also decided to convert the Tribhuvan University into the central university.
