Govt to evaluate SLC result: Minister

KASKI, June 14: Minister for Education Dina Nath Sharma has said the government would evaluate the result of School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exams and devote to quality education in the days to come.



Speaking at the concluding programme of the review meeting of the West Regional Education Directorate here on Thursday, he admitted that the SLC result published yesterday was not the satisfactory. [break]



The body behind the decline in SLC pass rate should be ascertained and reviewed, he added.



Moreover, Minister Sharma said the government had invested a lot for quality education but the result was still unsatisfactory.



According to Minister Sharma, the government should work hard to bring better result in SLC exam.



A total of 208,187 students out of 496,028 passed the SLC exam this year. It was declined by 8 percent compared to the last year.
