Govt endorses CoAS Gurung's China visit

KATHMANDU, Oct 30: The government has decided to allow to have medical equipments to be granted by China for Birendra Sainik Hospital, the Nepal Army hospital based in Chhauni in the capital.



A cabinet meeting held in Singha Durbar Sunday morning took a decision to this effect, informed Raj Lal Yadav, minister without portfolio, who was present in the meeting.[break]



Earlier, a high-level military delegation led by Chief of General Staff of China´s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Chen Bingde had made an announcement about providing100 million RMB in logistical assistance to the NA hospital.



The meeting also endorsed Chief of Army Staff Chhatraman Singh Gurung’s China visit. Gurung is embarking on a week-long visit to China later in the day.



During his visit, CoAS Gurung is expected to sign agreement papers related to the Chinese assistance.



Besides, today´s meeting discussed issues regarding regular works and performances of government ministries, Yadav informed.
