KATHMANDU, Nov 19: A Global Arts initiative, Micro Galleries is going to kick off from November 23 in Patan. According to a press statement released by Micro Galleries, the two-week long art festival welcomes all to join in and experience live paintings and installations, workshops, interactive photography, singing in a waterspout and guided tours.

Quoting Global Artistic Director Kat Roma Greer the press statement explained, “We are a tiny team from around the world that packs a huge amount of activities into a two-week event, particularly over the opening weekend. Our goal is to make micro change on a large scale through art and creativity and our theme this year is, ‘Empower!’ So, on top of our packed program, local and international artists will explore the effects of climate change and women’s empowerment on communities, such as Kathmandu to draw attention to these important issues.”
It added that ‘Women on the Wall mural’ is one of the major programs of the art festival scheduled for November 24. Women from across the local Kathmandu communities together with local and international artists will join as one to paint a mural telling a story with theme of female empowerment. The mural will also aim to give a voice to women’s issues, concerns, strength and dreams in order to raise their voice as a collective - locally and globally.
