The accident occurred when a van of Armed Police Force, Bardibas, Ba 1 Jha 5987 and education tour bus of Sriram Higher Secondary School Janakpur Na 2 Kha 5940 collided head on.[break]
Those who died are Armed Police SP Bishnukant Pathak, Sub-Inspector Kumar Dahal, and Policemen Bablu Lama and Bikram Shahi.
Pathak and Dahal died on the spot and personnel Lama and Shahi died while being taken to Dharan for treatment.
Seriously injured Guman Singh Tharu and Ramu Rana Magar have been sent to Dharan for treatment and are in critical condition.
Other 12 injured returned home after minor treatment, the Janakpur Hospital said. Bus driver is at large and the bus has been impounded by the police.
