A man died and another was seriously injured when a tractor carrying sand slid 30 feet off the highway at Khalangwa VDC-5 of Jajarkot district, reported our correspondent. The tractor (Bhe 1 Ta 2295), which had left from the headquarters Khalangwa, was heading toward Dhime VCD. [break]
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Bhakta Bahadur Nath, a laborer, of Khudari VDC-2 of Jumla district. Hira Bahadur Khatri, sub-inspector at Jajarkot District Police Office, informed that the injured driver Kamal BK of Kohalpur Municipality-5 of Banke district has been taken to Nepalgunj for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, our Jhapa-based reporter said that a passenger died after falling off a bus (Mhe 1 Kha 436) near Mahamai VDC of the district. The police informed that Bhim Bahadur Khadka of Sunsari-4 was killed when he fell off of the bus, which was headed toward Mahamai VDC from Birtamod of Jhapa district. The police have detained the driver.
In yet another accident, a person died and 7 others were injured when a Bolero jeep (Ba 6 Cha 6944) bound toward Okhaldhunga met with an accident at Jyamire VDC. The deceased has been identified as Fhat Bahadur Magar of Mulkharka VDC-6 of the district.
According to police inspector Bhesraj Rijal of Okhaldhunga District Police Office, among the injured Kul Bahadur Magar,69, of Chyanam VDC-1, Suman Baniya,16, of Chyanam VDC-5 and Sharki Maya, 39, of Mulkharka VDC-3, are in critical conditions. Rijal informed that the injured are being treated at Okhaldhunga Community Hospital.
Likewise, a cyclist was killed after being hit by a tipper (Na 3 Kha 9250) at Murli VDC-15 of Parsa district, informed our Birgunj-based reporter. Parsa District Traffic Office has identified the deceased as Om Prakash Thatwa, 28, of Nautan VDC-7 of Bara district.
Angry locals vandalized the tipper. Thatwa´s body has been sent to Narayani Sub Regional Hospital for autopsy. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Bista informed that the tipper driver Bhrij Kishor Sahani, 29, of Bara district has been arrested.
