KATHMANDU, Feb 27: Former king Gyanendra Shah and queen Komal have left for Thailand on Wednesday afternoon to visit their ailing son former crown prince Paras, who is undergoing treatment in a Bangkok hospital still in an unconscious state following a major heart attack last week.
The ex-royal couple departed for the Thai capital from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu via a scheduled Thai Airway fight at 2:20 pm, with their three grandchildren—Hridayendra, Purnika and Kritika--also accompanying them. [break]
Paras is undergoing treatment at Samitivej Hospital in Bangkok. He has been kept in the coronary care unit. The doctors have said his condition is very critical. Former crown princess Himani is already in Bangkok to assist in her husband’s treatment.
