Former PM Chand sees need of national unity

BHAKTAPUR, June 30: Former Prime Minister and senior leader of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Lokendra Bahadur Chand has said that only the national unity could find away out to the protracted political deadlock in the country.



Speaking at a program organized by the Siward International College Thimi, Bhaktapur on Saturday, the former prime minister stressed the need of forging national consensus to establish the lasting peace in the country and for the safeguard of national integrity.[break]



"Now, the nation is passing through transition", he said adding that unity in every level from politics to cultural sector was necessary to give an outlet to the nation.



On the occasion, leader Chand presented the Siward Running Shield to the Balkot-based Mount View English School that secured the highest marks from the district in the School Leaving Certificate ( SLC) examinations- 2068 BS.



Likewise, the SLC toppers from the district including Iraj Parajuli, Arati Shrestha, and Rabindra Duwal were honoured on the occasion.
