KATHMANDU, Feb 3: United Kingdom has deported five Nepali men on the charge of abusing student visas to travel to UK in order to work there.

According to a press statement issued by British Embassy in Kathmandu, Thursday, the men were caught working illegally at a car wash in the town of Bury St Edmunds by UK Border Agency Officers. [break]

All five men were returned to Nepal.

“Immigration checks revealed that all the men had student visa but four of them were not studying. One man was studying but working for more than the permitted hours. All the men were detained while arrangements for their removal to Nepal were made,” said the statement.

"Too many students arriving to study at below degree level have been coming here with a view to living and working, rather than studying. We need to stop this abuse," the statement quoted Immigration Minister Damian Green as saying.
