Police nabbed five men identified as Paras Hamal and Bhanubhakta Basnet of Urahari-8, Rana Bahadur Gharti and Gopal Gharti of Hapur-1 and Hiramani Chaudhary of Tarigaon-7.[break]
They have also recovered a revolver pistol, 10 rounds of bullets, two bullet shells, a sword and a khukuri from them.
Dang police made public them on Sunday.
Chaudhary, an UCPN (Maoist) district member in Dang was shot at by the gang at around 4:00 near his Dhamkapur-based residence in Duruwa VDC on 19 October. He was shot at while herding oxen near his house. He was seriously injured in the attack and was rushed to Rapti Zonal Hospital.
