According to the police, Badal Pulami, 22, of Chitwan, who is a taxi driver, admitted that he killed Dawa Chhiring Sherpa, 23, in a fit of rage after he learnt that the “latter raped his girlfriend Priya". Priya is a dancer at a bar in Thamel, said Pulami.
Sherpa, 23, of Okhaldhunga, was stabbed by a group on Wednesday and died the next morning while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital.
Badal said in his statement to police that he initially planned to injure Dawa but could not stop himself after seeing the latter in person.
Priya, Hira Bahadur Tamang, Kamal Tamang and Wangchu Sherpa and Badal are currently under police custody.
