A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed between the embassy and Dosunsa Temple on Sunday. ´The Eternal Peace Flame´ transported from Lumbini will be permanently established in Dosuna.
"It will then be taken to 108 associated monasteries around South Korea, allowing devotees to offer religious rituals and ceremony as well as praying for eternal peace, prosperity of Korean people and peaceful reunification of two Koreas,” said the statement.
The statement added that the Eternal Peace Flame will be taken out in the procession during ´Lantern Festival´, one of the largest festivals celebrated in Buddha Purnima in Seoul.
“Prior to lighting peace flame for its transportation to Korea, holy flame from Muktinath will also be brought from Mustang and combined with the Eternal Peace Flame as a sign of religious harmony, international peace and prosperity of all human beings,” it added.
Let’s live in peace and embrace diversity
