According to the company, with the launch of Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki will complete its portfolio of passenger vehicles. The MUV is equipped with a powerful engine and advanced technology.
“As we wait to welcome the MUV segment of Maruti Suzuki, we are very delighted and hopeful it will create a buzz in the Nepal market,” said Bishal Shrestha, manager- marketing, sales and strategy.

The company has targeted the car to the hospitality sector and airports.
The MUV has a 1.4 liter 1373 cc K series petrol engine. According to the company, it belts out 95 ps of maximum power at 6,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 130 nm of maximum torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in 15 seconds and has a top speed of 155 km per hour. According to Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), the vehicle delivers a mileage of 15 km per liter in the city and 18 km on the highway.
The designers of Ertiga have built in various features and attributes of a sedan in the compact MUV. The swept back headlamps, inspired by the Swift and the bonnet and grill taken from the Ritz, give Ertiga a car-like look and customers will have less feel of MUV.
“The car is front wheel drive and sports fine quality interiors,” said Shrestha.
The car has seven seats and three rows. Passengers can get easy access to the third row by folding down the second row seat and sliding it forward.
Ertiga is quite spacious with 4265mm length and 2740 mm wheelbase.
For the safety of passengers, Ertiga has an anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with EBD, engine immobilizer, dual SRS airbags, and high tensile roof along with a central locking system. ABS provides the vehicle the correct braking balance between the rear and front axles.
Other features include an integrated music system with steering mounted music controls, roof mounted air blower to keep second and third-row passengers cool, air conditioner, security alarm system, seat belt reminder, power steering, tilt-able steering wheel column, power windows, key-less entry and remote fuel lid opener.
Customers can choose from seven different colors: Ercu Beige, Dusky Brown, Granite Grey, Serene Blue, Silky Silver, and Superior White and Fire Brick Red.
According to Shrestha, the company will be pricing the vehicle from Rs 2.8 million upwards.
