Distilleries pay two third of their income for tax

BIRATNAGAR, Nov 28: The distilleries in Sunsari and Morang district pay two third of their incomes for tax to the government.



It has been learnt that the distilleries produce the liquors worth Rs. 5.3 billion annually, it has been reported. The liquors´ transaction has been increasing compared to the past.[break]



The distillery entrepreneurs complained that price hiking for raw material, load shading, rise on the tax and banda and strikes have hit the liquor producers hard.



They claimed that the import of foreign liquors from different third countries have been decreasing due to the production of local liquors.



United Sprits Nepal, Tankasinuwari, Chandika, Darbesha, Golden, Nimuwa, Annapurna and Eastern distilleries among others have been producing liquors in Morang and Sunsari districts.
