Direct bus service from Karnali to Kathmandu marks Loktantra Day

JUMLA, April 24: Direct bus service from Jumla of Karnali to Kathmandu has been initiated from Friday on the occasion of the Loktantra Day.

Assistant Chief District Officer Bishnu Prasad Neupane inaugurated the service amidst a program here at 6 this morning.


Addressing the function, Assistant CDO Neupane said today is a happy day for the people of this region as today marks the beginning of direct bus services to Kathmandu. He thanked the Karnali Transport Service for operating the direct bus service to the capital.

Also speaking on the occasion, local leaders of different parties, representatives of civil society and the transport entrepreneurs expressed happiness at the start of direct bus service to Kathmandu, saying this has made a remote Karnali closer to the capital.

A bus carrying eight passengers embarked on its maiden journey to Kathmandu from here today. It will reach Kathmandu after 36 hours traversing a distance of about 830 kilometers. The fare from Jumla to Kathmandu has been fixed Rs 2,850 per head. RSS
