LAHAN, March 27: Daughter of Constituent Assembly (CA) member from the Communist Party of Nepal-United Marxist Leninist Kiran Kumari Yadav has been arrested while appearing for exams in her mother´s stead on the third day of School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exams.

Poonam Yadav was arrested from Barhathawa Higher Secondary School center in Sarlahi. Poonam was immediately released and Chief District Officer (CDO) Shambhu Ghimire, who is the chairman of the examinations committee, tried to sweep the matter under the carpet.

CDO Ghimire conceded that a person giving exams in place of Kiran Kumari Yadav was arrested but later denied the incident and terminated calls repeatedly saying he would not talk about the matter and told this scribe to not bother him unnecessarily.

Control room of the Sarlahi Police conceded that seven fake examinees had been arrested from the Barhathawa center but refused to give their names saying it was only authorized to give the numbers and not the names of the arrested.

Chief of Sarlahi Police SP Purna Chanda Joshi later said a team had been sent to the center but the fake examinee, who had appeared in CA member´s stead, had already left the center when the team reached there.
