RAUTAHAT, Feb 15: A couple died in a motorcycle accident that occurred early Sunday morning in Rautahat district.
The accident took place at Durga Bhagwati Rural Municipality–4, where both the husband and wife died on the spot.
Teenager dies in motorcycle accident
The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Jitendra Sah of Yamunamai Rural Municipality–4 and his 22-year-old wife, Punam Devi Sah. According to police, the motorcycle (registration number BR 30 U 1371) was heading towards the district headquarters, Gaur, when it went out of control, veered off the road, and crashed into a sisau tree on the roadside.
Police said preliminary investigation suggests the accident occurred after the motorcycle lost control and fell off the road.
According to the District Police Office, Rautahat, the bodies have been kept at the Provincial Hospital, Gaur. Further investigation into the incident is underway, and the bodies will be handed over to the family after post-mortem examination.
Locals said dense fog had covered the area since morning, which may have reduced visibility and contributed to the accident.
