Chairman of Federation of Contractors´ Associations of Nepal (FCAN) and manager of the tunnel highway construction, Jayram Lamichhane, said that they would start the construction process within a month.[break]
Stating that obstacles in the construction of the highway were removed after the government on May 13 gave permission to the Nepal Infrastructure Development Company, Lamichhane said that they hoped to get the approval letter only by next Tuesday.
He added that they would complete the construction works within the deadline at any cost.
Similarly, Local Development officer, Bhuwan Prakash Bista, said that the decision of the government and determination of the company is praiseworthy as the construction of the tunnel highway will have special importance on overall development of Makawanpur district.
People from all walks of life in the district are happy after the confirmation of the construction of the 58-kilometre Hetauda-Kulekhani-Kathmandu tunnel highway.
After the construction of the highway, the travel time from Kathmandu would be cut short by three hours. It is four hours drive from Kathmandu to Hetauda at present.
