CoAS Rana meets Indian counterpart

KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Visiting Chief of the Army Staff, Gaurav Samsher Rana, held a bilateral meeting with his Indian counterpart, Bikram Singh in New Delhi.



Issuing a statement, on Monday, the Nepal Army said, the Indian Army Chief pledged to provide election-related materials and vehicles for the NA during the Constituent Assembly elections slated for Nov 19. [break]



According to the NA, the Indian Army Chief reiterated to resume military assistance to the Nepal Army, which has been in the pipeline for a long time.

“The Indian side was positive to provide an ALH Helicopter and necessary training to operate it,” reads the statement. CoAS Rana was accompanied by Charge D’Affairs at the Nepal embassy in New Delhi, Khaga Nath Adhikary in all meetings.



Similarly, the CoAS and his Indian counterpart Singh visited the ongoing Indo-Nepal Joint Group Training Consolidation Exercise in Pithoragadh on Monday. Leading a Nepalese delegation, CoAS Rana left for India on Sunday.
