According to Bod Raj Pathak, vice-chairman of ADPC, the center spread over one bigha and five katthas of land has been built with financial and physical labor contribution by local members of the cooperatives.

"Around three dozen cows are currently at the center for breeding purposes, which will be doubled to 70 within a month. The main objective of the center is to produce improved breed of cows and supply them to farmers across the country. The center, which is still under construction, will increase the number of cows to 300 within next two years," Pathak said.

"I was inspired by the success story of a cow breeding center in Dubai of the UAE where around 600,000 cows were reared in the center," said Pathak.

He also said the center will work to protect local breeds of cows, which are being supplied to India in huge numbers for slaughter.
