HONG KONG, May 22: A group of Chinese nationals are organizing ´Visit Nepal Culture Festival-2011´ in Zhuhai of Southern China on May 28 and 29 to promote Nepal and Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) campaign.

The group has taken the initiative to promote NTY amid complaints that the government is doing nothing to promote the campaign in China. [break]Nepal targets to welcome 100,000 visitors from the northern neighbor in 2011.

The event that will be held at Oxford Street is being organized in the initiation of Simone Xue, founder of TPR International School of Zhuhai.

Hari Shrestha, coordinator of the event, said the event will feature 20 stalls showcasing Nepali handicraft and cuisines.

It will also have a stall to disseminate information about tourism products and services in Nepal. “Traditional Nepali music, dance and other cultural activities will be the major attraction of the event,” Shrestha said, adding that Nepali entrepreneurs operating business in neighboring cities like Hong Kong and Macau will have stalls at the event.

The event is supported by the Office of Nepali Consul General in Hong Kong and NTY´s goodwill ambassadors Julia Cheng and Lee Tak.

All the expenses incurred during the even will be borne by the Chinese nationals.
