Chhath being celebrated

KATHMANDU, Nov 1: Chhath festival ritually began as devotees offered curd to the Sun God in the banks of ponds, lakes and rivers on Tuesday falling on the sixth day of the lunar calendar in the month of Kartik.



The sun is worshiped from early morning after clean up of the places with cow dung.



The setting sun is offered bananas, thekuwa and bhusana and other offerings.



The festival concludes after offering worship of the rising Sun Wednesday morning.
