BUSINESS BRIEFS: Volkswagen showroom in Biratnagar

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Pooja International Nepal -- the authorized importer of Volkswagen vehicles in Npeal -- has opened a new showroom and service center in Biratnagar. According to a press statement issued by the company, Jagdish Prasad Agrawal, president of Vishal Group, inaugurated the showroom. The newly opened showroom is designed as per the corporate identity of Volkswagen across the world, said the statement.



 The showroom at Biratnagar will mostly focus on small cars -- New Polo and Vento. Pooja International Nepal has already sold 600 Volkswagen cars of 10 different models in the past two and half years.[break]



Kwiks Cheeseballs celebrates 25 years



KATHMANDU
: Kwiks Cheeseballs, which was launched in 1987, has completed 25 years of production. Issuing a press statement on Monday, Chaudhary Group said Kwiks Cheeseballs has seen a whole new generation grow up with its unique taste and even today a whole new generation continues to do the same of which licking their fingers after finishing a pack is the most enjoyable part.



"Made from real cheddar cheese, Kwiks Cheeseballs retains the original taste and continues to win against all competition," said the statement. To celebrate 25th anniversary of Kwiks Cheeseballs, Chaudhary Group has launched a celebration campaign with the slogan ´Making people lick their fingers for the last 25 years´.



Bajajtantra third week winners announced

: Hansraj Hulaschand and company--authorized distributor of Bajaj motorbikes in Nepal, has announced its third week winners of its Dashain scheme named Bajajtantra. Issuing a press statement, the company said Prahlad Karki from Bhaktapur won Rs 500,000, Uddhab KC from Imadole won Samsung 40 inch LED TV, Shyam Prasad Subedi from Kalimati won 20 grams of gold, Anil Nahrki from Dhuwakot, Gorkha won free foreign trip, Dev Ratna Shakya from Patan won Dell laptop, Nabin Kumar Mishra from Janakpur won Samsung refrigerator and Hiralala Prasad Yadav from Parsa won a Nokia smartphone. The company announced the winners through a live lucky draw, according to the statement.



Sanima launches real estate loan



KATHMANDU
: Sanima Bank has introduced real estate loan for individuals wishing to purchase a land for the purpose of building a house. This loan product called ´Sanima Awasiya Ghaderi Karja´ comes with affordable interest rate payable in 15 years, says a banks statement. "This product is targeted at those who are planning to build their own home on their own land," adds the statement.



Kailash to give away 12% dividend



KATHMANDU
: Kailash Development Bank is giving away cash dividend equivalent to 12 percent of its paid-up capital to its shareholders, according to a bank statement. The decision was taken by the annual general meeting of the development bank held on Sunday. "The cash would be distributed once Nepal Rastra Bank endorses the decision," the statement says. The development bank, which has a paid-up capital of Rs 707.6 million, has so far collected Rs 5 billion in deposits and extended Rs 4.5 billion in loans.



Sipradi Auto Parts to help Tyre repairers



KATHMANDU
: An agreement has been signed between Sipradi Auto Parts and Tyre Repairing Entrepreneurs Association on Monday to protect the entrepreneur´s rights. According to a press statement issued after the agreement, Sipradi Auto Parts will run a campaign in which the entrepreneurs will get a high quality air compressor as a replacement to their low quality air compressor. “The agreement has been signed to minimize the loss caused due to bursting of low quality air compressor and to prevent loss of lives,” said Indra Dahal, president of the association. During the program, financial assistance was handed over to those entrepreneurs who had affected due to compressor explosion.



BLU mobiles hit the shelves



KATHMANDU
: Pashupati Trade Link, an enterprise of Murarka Organization, on Monday introduced five different models of BLU mobile phones in the local market. Issuing a press statement, the newly launched sets -- Hero, Click Plus, Jenny, Tank and DJ Plus -- are user friendly and have features like touch screen, FM radio, camera and video recording. Pashupati Trade Link is giving one-year warranty on handsets and six months warranty on battery and charger. The company plans to introduce new models of BLU mobile phones to suit trends and needs of consumers in the near future, according to the statement.
