BUSINESS BRIEFS: Jagdamba appoints Gothe as brand ambassador

KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Jagdamba Foods, a subsidiary of Shanker Group, has appointed Shiv Sundar Gothe, a national table tennis player, as its brand ambassador. According to a press statement issued by the company, Gothe was appointed as the ambassador to refresh the company´s image and make its products more popular among Nepalis consumers. "It´s a matter of great happiness and pride for me to be chosen as the brand ambassador of Jagdamba Foods.



This fact itself is a motivating factor for sports personnel. I am confident that such acts will contribute to the development of the country´s sports sector and further boost the morale of sportsmen," the statement quoted Gothe as saying. [break]Jagdamba Foods has been manufacturing a wide range of food products and has been able to maintain its status as consumer´s preferred brand for many years, said the statement.



Hero launches ´Dimag Kharab Offer´



KATHMANDU
: Nepal General Marketing (NGM), the sole authorized distributor of Hero bikes for Nepal, has launched a scheme called ´Dimag Kharab Offer´ on the occasion of New Year 2013. Under the scheme, customers will get a sure shot cash discount of Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,500 on selected models, says a press statement issued by the company.



The scheme also offers cash refund to customers through lucky draw. According to the statement, customers declared first, second and third through lucky draw will get cash refund of 50 percent, 75 percent and 100 percent, respectively, on their purchases. The company expects to sell around 4,000 units of bikes and scooters during the scheme period through more than 50 Hero outlets across Nepal. The scheme will be valid for a limited period of time, says the statement.



Yamaha´s ´Like My Style´ winner announced

: Kreess Rai from Damak has become the first iPhone 5 winner of Yamaha´s ongoing ´Like My Style´ contest. Rai, who was among those who had ´liked´ Yamaha´s Facebook´s page, was declared winner through a lucky draw aired live through television, says a press statement issued by the company. Rai has been the lucky ´liker´ among 14,120 people who ´liked´ Yamaha´s Facebook page in the first 15 days of the launch of the contest. Yamaha ´Like My Style´ is a Facebook contest launched to promote its bikes and establish an effective social network channel through which people can also win up to Rs 200,000. To participate in the scheme, Facebook users should upload their stylish photograph with Yamaha R15, FZ-S, Fazer and SZ-R on Yamaha Nepal´s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/yamahanepal ), says the statement. The photograph with highest number of ´likes´ wins cash prize of Rs 200,000, while the one with second highest ´likes´ wins Rs 100,000.
