BUSINESS BRIEFS: Colors CG103 in market

KATHMANDU, May 6: Teletalk -- the sole authorized distributor of Colors mobile in Nepal -- has launched CG103, a bar phone that supports both GSM and CDMA, in the Nepali market. According to a press statement issued by the company, CG103 sports a 2.2-inch screen and has features like inbuilt audio/video player, digital camera, sound recording and wireless FM, and supports GPRS/WAP internet connections.



The phone uses 1500 mAh battery, which provides longer talk time and a freedom from the frequent charging, according to the statement. CG103 is available in black color with blue or red side wall and home keys. Teletalk gives six months warranty on battery and charger and one year warrant on handset.[break]



Yamaha Safe Riding event held

KATHMANDU
: MAW, the distributor of Yamaha bikes in Nepal, has organized ´Yamaha Safe Riding Science´ -- a global initiative by Yamaha -- at Oxford College of Engineering and Management at Gaidakot, Nawalparasi. The campaign was organized with the objective of raising safety awareness as part of its unique Corporate Social Responsibility. According to a press statement, 60 students participated in the program. "The workshop enlightens bikers on various topics like the most common causes of accidents and ways to avoid them, precautions to take while riding, scientific evaluation of critical traffic conditions, proper riding posture, and tips on breaking and most importantly the significance of traffic rules and why it should be followed," said the statement.



Shoe Land´s offer for retailers

: Pavitra Shoes Industry, the manufacturer of Shoe Land, has launched an offer named ´Shoe Land Sun Chadi Bahar´ for its retailers. Issuing a press statement on Sunday, the company said retailers will get silver coin on the purchase of Shoe Land´s shoes and one retailer selected through lucky draw will get 10 grams gold.



25% off on Bata shoes, sandals

KATHMANDU
: Digbijaya International, the authorized distributor of Bata in Nepal -- has announced special discount offer on shoes and sandals. According to a press statement issued by the company, it is offering up to 25 percent discount on shoes and sandals. Bata has shoes and sandals for children, men and women. The offer is vaild for a limited period only, according to the statement.



Virgin Mobile´s special offer on Galaxy S4

KATHMANDU
: Virgin Mobile, a multibrand gadgets showroom, has introduced a special offer for the buyers of the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S4. Vivek Sharma Dhandh, managing director of the company, said his company is offering one year extended warranty on S4 or a discount of Rs 4,200. The phone with extended warranty costs Rs 71,900. According to the company, people can exchange their Galaxy SII, SIII and Note II with S4. Sharma said Virgin Mobile has sold 105 unit of S4 till Monday. The phone hit the shelves on Sunday.



Prabhu, City open branch offices

KATHMANDU
: Prabhu Finance Company opened its 40th branch in Biratnagar on Monday. Ashok Sherchan, CEO of the company, inaugurated the branch office opened at Rangeli Road of Biratnagar. A press release issued by the company states customers will get all kinds of banking services through the newly opened branch. Similarly, City Development Bank based in Pokhara has opened its ninth branch office in Manang. Ananda Raj Mulmi, former president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Hari Prasad Bastola CDO of Manang and Rajendra Kumar Bataju, chairman of the bank, jointly inaugurated the branch office located in Chame -- the district headquarters of Manang. The newly opened branch is the first banking outlet from the private sector in the district.



National Life facilitates 150 members

KATHMANDU
: A gathering of members of Chairperson´s Club of National Life Insurance Company concluded in Kathmandu on Sunday. On the occasion, Prema Rajya Laxmi Singh, chairperson of the company, felicitated 150 members, including 10 best performing members. Speaking on the occasion, Bharat Basnet, CEO of National Life Insurance, highlighted the progress made by the company so far. On the occasion, Chirayu Bhandari, assistant general manager of the company, made a presentation about the newly launched ´Amrit Single Premium Endowment Policy´.
