BUSINESS BRIEFS: Base batteries, USP, inverters in market

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: Base Batteries, a leading battery players of India, has entered into a new alliance with Agni Energy, going by which Agni Energy would henceforth function as the official distributor of batteries and other products of the company for Nepal. Agni Energy, a subsidiary company of Agni Incorporated, launched Base Batteries, UPS and Inverters in the Nepali market on Thursday.



“After having established ourselves as one of the top four battery players in India, we find it prudent to enter a market like Nepal. Nepal enables us to explore and reach out to a new customer, and given the nature of our products, we believe it will benefit the local customer as well,” said Aditya Arora, chief operating officer of Base Batteries. “With scientifically designed mechanism of sales, we will ensure a widespread reach and attempt to capture at least 10 percent of the market share in the first year itself,” said Gunjan Johri, director sales,Base Batteries.



New Bajaj outlet in Inaruwa



KATHMANDU
: HH Bajaj, the sole authorized distributor of Bajaj motorcycles for Nepal, has opened a new service outlet -- Ranu Auto Centre -- at Shantichowk in Inaruwa. Shekar Golchha, executive director of HH Bajaj inaugurated its showroom on Thursday. According to a press statement issued by the company, the newly opened showroom is equipped with ultra-modern facilities and would also deal in spare parts of Bajaj Motorcycles. The new showroom has on display eleven different models of Bajaj motorcycles. It has also introduced finance and exchange services to the customers.



Escorts launches two new series of tractors



KATHMANDU
: Escorts, India´s leading tractor brand, launched two new series of tractors, which are the most powerful offerings in their respective categories, in Nepal. The tractor series launched include FARMTRAC 6060 and 6065 in 60HP and 65 HP segment respectively. These tractors are positioned in the high-end, premium tractor category. POWERTRAC Diesel-Saver Plus tractor series, the other range, is available in 37 to 45 HP range, is rated the mid-size tractor. The Farmtrac 6060 and 6065 tractors are designed to cater to Nepali farmers, who are smart and educated with an entrepreneurial bent of mind, the company said in a press statement.



Powertrac ´DIESEL-SAVER PLUS´ tractor series come with a 10 percent power upgrade across its range and caters to the emerging ´commerce-minded´ farmers, who use their tractors not just for regular farm work but also as a source of generating additional income. Speaking at the launch, Sameer Tandon, Head of Sales, Service & Spare Parts, Escorts Agri Machinery said Nepal is a high potential market for the company. “ With the new products launched today, we aim to revolutionalize the tractor market in Nepal,”he said, adding that Escorts would bring more products into the country and further strengthen its sales and service network.
