British School's Eco Fair

KATHMANDU, Feb 9: As a part of The British School’s work with the United Kingdom-based Eco-Schools program since more than two years, The British School, Jhamsikhel, is organizing an Eco Festival similar to last year’s.



The fair will be held on Friday, February 10 at the school ground itself from 2:30 to 4 p.m.[break]



It involves all staffs, students and parents who initiated to make the school as environment friendly as possible.



Some of the works include regular community litter picks, establishment of recycling systems, and organic vegetable plantation and eco gardens as a part of the school’s curriculum projects.



The objective of the fair is to raise environmental awareness by trying out various eco activities along with creating maximum participation of students as well as the community.



The fair consists of food stalls, games, music and more.



“The money collected from each organization will be donated to “Children for a Green New Nepal” and eco projects within the school,” states the press release.



Each organization has to pay a sum ofvRs. 100 as participation fees.
