According to CAB Nepal, the government of Punjab in Pakistan is organizing the nine-day tournament with an aim to restart international sport events which have been stymied since last few years.
Besides Nepal and host Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will also take part in the first ever Asia Cup blind cricket, CAB Nepal wrote in an email to Republica.
Kritan Shrestha Duwal has been assigned dual responsibilities of the captain and the coach of the Nepali team.
Kritan will be assisted by Bikram Rana as vice-captain of the team.
Pawan Ghimire, the chairman of CAB Nepal, will manage the team as an official, while Upendra Shrestha will look after the logistics of the players.
Lok Bahadur Gurung will act as assistant team manager during the event.
Participation in this event will be a consolation for the blind cricketers who were unable to participate in the last year's World Cup in South Africa due to financial constraint.
Other members of the team are Shankar Regmi, Bharat Thapa, Ramesh Baniya, Padam Badela, Khimananda Gaire, Ram Paudel, Badri Timilsina,Santa Pahari,
Sunil Subedi, Jeevan Gurung, Santosh Sapkota and Rajendra Dhital.
