Bhandari returning on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, Feb 2: Defense Minister Bidya Bhandari will return home on Wednesday after a weeklong visit to New Delhi, India.



Although it was an unofficial visit, Bhandari met some senior politicians including Foreign Minister S M Krishna, Chairman of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nitin Godkari, former BJP Chairman Rajnath Singh and senior Congress leader Karan Singh, Bhandari´s press advisor, Subash Devkota said.



Devkota also informed that she held meetings with former communications minister and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj and CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat. He said that Bhandari discussed the ongoing peace process and constitution-writing process with the leaders and informed them that the present government is “committed” to taking the peace process to its logical conclusion and drafting a new constitution on time.



Bhandari had reached New Delhi on January 27 for a follow-up check up after she had a back surgery last year.
