Baidya, Koirala in talks to end political crisis

KATHMANDU, July 2: CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya along with other senior party leaders, including  party General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa, is meeting Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala at the latter´s residence in Maharajgunj on Monday afternoon.



The meeting is said to dwell on contemporary political issues, primarily ways to forge national consensus to end the existing political crisis, Pampha Bhusal, spokesperson of CPN-M informed Republica Online. [break]



This is the first time CPN-M Chairman Baidya is meeting with the NC president after breaking away from the UCPN (Maoist).



Koirala is also scheduled to meet UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at 5 pm, the NC president´s press advisor Bipul Pokharel informed.
